Job Profile
Ensure that the work carried out complies with international construction codes, project specifications, tender, work instructions, procedure and manuals, as appropriate. Perform in-process and final inspections on electrical and instrumentation jobs in shop and onboard. Participation in work identifications. Attend daily onboard meeting. Coordinate and liaise with classification societies, third party inspection agencies, Ship Superintendents and other trades, to ensure adherence to related standards. Stop processes if they do not meet specified requirements, raise Occurrence Reports / Fields Reports recommend for corrective and preventive actions. Collecting, updating and filing all relevant inspection records. Perform NDT as required. Conduct frequent audits and report any non-compliance to the superiors on issues of quality.

The shipyard is the largest facility in the Middle East and is the flagship company of Dubai World subsidiary Drydocks World. A ship repair yard of choice, it is also the preferred location for vessel conversions, new building and offshore construction. Conceived as an ambitious project under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the late Ruler of Dubai, the facility on an average handles 400 vessels in a year, most of them ULCCs (Ultra Large Crude Carriers) and VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers). It completed 25 years of operation in 2008. Several of the world’s largest dredgers and jack-up rigs are serviced every year and the yard has specialised LNG handling capabilities. The yard’s workshops are equipped with modern equipment capable of working to exacting standards.
